Xi'an University of Science and Technology (XUST) is a full-time general college and university of engineering, with distinctive characteristics of engineering, science, economics and management, and a combination of engineering, science, economics and management. Formerly known as Shaanxi Mining School founded in 1958, the university is one of the key colleges and universities supported by the "Midwest Basic Capacity Building Project" of Shaanxi Province, the "Cultural Quality Education Base for College Students" of Shaanxi Province, and one of the first batch of "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest". It is the "Cultural Quality Education Base for College Students" in Shaanxi Province, the first batch of "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China", and the key construction college of Shaanxi Province's Service to the Special Needs of the Nation Talent Training Program.
